This rustic, one-piece snip is made of forged black steel and now comes with a natural, vegetable-tanned leather point protector to keep both you and the snip protected while not in use. Please note these are snips, not scissors, and they are imperfectly hand-forged. They have a nice heft in the hand, and the good news is that no one is going to borrow them from your knitting kit - they are really only good for snipping yarn! Not rainbow colors for long (1 out of 5)
I just bought these stitch markers over the holidays and only started using them on a project 2 weeks ago. 2 inches into my sweater, the colored coating started peeling off the green markers. I love opening stitch markers that don't throw off my stitch size, but these won't be colored long.
These are the perfect combination of weight and color. They glide on your needles between stitches and are easy to see against any color yarn. I love the knitters keeper and how I can keep all my bits on the magnetic wrist bracelet but I would have bought these anyway.
I bought these to go with my knit keeper that I love. This however is not the same quality as other Cocoknits products. They were uneven, sharp in odd places and just poorly made. They also didn't snip smoothly so they would snag yarn. Skip these if you're going for the full Cocoknits set.
I thought these were a great idea and I was excited to get them but it didn't take long before the color coating started chipping off. I have many that now have no color and I found a lot of color chips in my knitting. I hope that the reason they have 0 is because they are no longer sold and that they are trying to come up with a way to have the color stay.
I don't use them anymore since I'm allergic to nickel and only bought them because they had a coating and where removable. I will stick to plastic.
The set might be a tad pricey at $9 for 60 safety pins, but I use non-coil safety pin stitch markers in my garment and sock knitting. These are nice in that the set comes in a variety of bright colors, so I can categorize certain areas or rows, when needed and the pins themselves are of decent quality. The cardboard storage box is also cute and very sturdy, and will withstand some use.
