Julie Knits in Paris Patterns

From designer Julie Dubreux: When Urth Yarns asked me to be part of their Knitters of the World programme, I loved the idea of designing knitwear inspired by my geographical identity. Beaubourg is a Museum of contemporary art in Paris. Some will tell you it is an eyesore, but I am partial to this colourful building in the very heart of grey Paris. 

Beaubourg is a large rectangular wrap that features two-colour brioche and slipped stitches against a background of garter stitch to represent the colourful pipes that run up the façade of the museum.

Bubbly is a beautiful, bite-sized project for any brioche enthusiast! Use two different colors for a striking contrast, or stick to one hue and focus on the texture of your swirling brioche pattern! This hat is knit from the bottom up and makes for the perfect squishy knit for those of us who want to stay stylish in the colder months!

From designer Julie Dubreux: Chevronne is a large half-pi shawl featuring a chevron motif worked in different stitches and different sizes to create a striking architectural design while still being technically suitable for beginners.

This semi-circle shawl (try saying that three times fast!) features sections of color that are large enough to show off the colors of your favorite ombre yarn! This wrap uses yarnovers to achieve a breezy and open feel to it!

From designer Julie Dubreux: Cosmic Dandy is a wide semi-circular shawl knit with merino singles and delicate mohair-silk for a light and soft fabric. This shawl is all about stripes: horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, and striped brioche allow all three colours to shine and mohair to bloom !

Stripes on stripes on stripes! This shawl is the perfect way to let the beauty of your yarn shine through rows of brioche and garter stitch! This pattern comes complete with two versions of this wrap - one with a wider vertical stripe section and one with a wider brioche section!

From designer Julie Dubreux: Gaga For Ewe is a dramatically large reversible shawl that features 3 sections of fancier and fancier two-colour brioche patterns.

Featuring section upon section of beautiful brioche designs that crawl up the length of the project, you could say we're... Gaga for it! This wrap is completely reversible and perfect for showing the beauty of your yarn through texture and shapes!

From designer Julie Dubreux: Gaudi is a Barcelona-inspired sweater that features a strikingly colourful Park Guell / La Sagrada Familia yoke. The ample, slightly cropped body, and the wide long sleeves give this sweater just the right arty vibe to showcase the Gaudi mosaic stranded colourwork.

Showcasing a beautiful mosaic yoke, this pullover has won our hearts (and needles) over! Worked in the round, from the top-down, and in one seamless piece, it's like a dream come true! Complimenting the yoke, this pullover elegantly features the same contrast color just above the bottom of the pullover to the cuffs of the sleeves.

From designer Julie Dubreux: This enveloping triangle includes garter stitch stripes, and one- and two-colour brioche sections which are worked one after the other on each side of the shawl, so that one doesn't work all stitches at a time except to bind-off!

Naked Dandy is a triangular shawl with an asymmetric pattern of eye-catching brioche sections. This wrap is worked with garter stitch stripes, and is easily customizable to make lighter (mohair, anyone!?) and show off the beauty of your favorite shades in your stash!
